Shanghai DianJi University is a regular higher education institution focused on advanced manufacturing and modern service industries, with engineering as its main discipline, and coordinated development of economics, management, literature, art, and other disciplines, it has been selected for the Ministry of Education's "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program", National New Engineering Research and Practice Project, National Advanced Unit for Vocational Education, one of the first batch of CDIO pilot institutions in China, one of the first batch of deep innovation and entrepreneurship education reform demonstration universities in Shanghai, Shanghai Higher Education Institution First-class Undergraduate Construction Leadership Program, Shanghai Higher Education Institution First-class Graduate Education Leadership Program, and is a member of the CDIO Engineering Education Alliance and the Vice Chairman unit of the Shanghai Aviation Society.


The school originated from the Shanghai Electrical Appliance Manufacturing School established in 1953 under the First Ministry of Machinery Industry. It was formed by integrating some engineering classes from Shanghai High School, some young industrial worker classes and cadre classes from the National Shanghai Advanced Mechanical Vocational School, and some young industrial worker classes from the Shanghai Industrial School. It subsequently went through the developmental stages of Shanghai Electrical Machinery Manufacturing School, Shanghai Electrical Machinery Manufacturing Technical College, and Shanghai Electrical Machinery Technology College. In 1985, it was among the first in the country to pilot five-year technical college education. In 2002, it was listed as a national key construction higher vocational college. In 2004, the Shanghai Mechanical and Electrical Industry School and the Shanghai Mechanical and Electrical Industry Workers' University were merged into it, in September of the same year, the school was renamed Shanghai DianJi University and upgraded to an undergraduate institution. In 2011, it became a pilot unit for the "Professional Degree Graduate Program for Serving National Special Needs Talent Cultivation". In 2020, it was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council as a master's degree granting unit.


As of June 2025, the school has 16 secondary teaching units, offering 48 undergraduate programs and 7 college programs, 12 master's degree programs, it has 13,600 full-time students and 1,089 faculty and staff. As of October 2024, it has 2 first-level discipline master's degree programs and 10 professional master's degree categories.

Design Effect


The overall design is simple and elegant, using smooth lines and simple shapes to create a comfortable, modern spatial atmosphere.
